Duties Works with the Branch Chief Deputy Branch Chief and Project Managers in developing input and monitoring project budgets, schedules, and scopes related to subsurface investigation, laboratory testing, and geologic and environmental engineering support Serves as a consultant to Branch Chief and Deputy Branch Chief responsible for geotechnical features, resolving problems, providing advice, and developing procedures for various geotechnical design and analysis.

Direct, coordinate and supervise the activities of professional personnel engaged in conducting geologic

and engineering studies which support foundation designs for levees, embankments, floodgates, pumping stations, control structures, and bridges. Supervise staff in the development of geologic and geotechnical or environmental engineering input for reconnaissance, feasibility reports, and design memoranda and coordinate assigned studies with personnel of other organizational elements.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. One-year probationary period may be required. A current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional

Geologist (PG) will be required at entry and must be maintained for continued employment.

This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
