This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. This position is not located in a bargaining unit. Qualifications NOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience. WHO CAN APPLY: GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Member (E-3/PFC- E-6/SSG) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.

GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Member (E-3/PFC- E-6/SSG), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period. Military Grades : Enlisted Member (E-3/PFC- E-6/SSG) GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Applicant must have experience functioning as the full-time support member responsible for preparation, documentation, and management of military training for the organization.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Applicant must have at least 9 months of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government OR, three full academic years of a progressively higher-level college degree? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experience being responsible for military training by devising and implementing training plans, guidelines and procedures, reports and backssments for the unit and individuals assigned.

Experience managing the military schools' program of the unit. Experience assisting in maintaining working relationships with local officials, clubs, etc. for a variety of such purposes as armory security coordination with police, suitability investigations, armory rental, unit participation in celebrations, or fund-raising drives, and to provide public information about the National Guard.

Experience performing recruiting duties to maintain the unit at authorized strength.
