May assist Senior Marketing Representatives with complex
and/or large accounts. May assist in preparing RFP responses. Typically reports to a department or marketing manager. Primary Responsibilities: Generally functions independently to provide marketing expertise, support, and assistance to sales professionals and Account Managers.
Assists in developing an overall marketing plan and strategy for assigned accounts to ensure that marketing objectives are met. Partners with sales professionals and client-facing staff to market new and renewal accounts and coordinate delivery of submissions to appropriate markets. Reviews and compares quotes to obtain the most comprehensive insurance programs and products at the most competitive value available.
Negotiates price, terms, coverage, and commissions with company representatives.
Participates in meetings and events with company representatives to learn about product offerings and develops relationships with the appropriate company personnel. Supports Senior Marketing Representative, as needed, on placement of more complex accounts. Maintains awareness of the insurance marketplace and insurance company underwriting guidelines, appetites, and programs. Keeps abreast of new developments in the insurance marketplace through publications, seminars, and industry organizations. Serves as an agency resource regarding market conditions, product offerings, and carrier appetite as they relate to the line of coverage and class of business.
Makes sales presentations with sales professionals as requested and serves as a resource to sales professionals during the sales process. Overtime work, as needed. Regular and reliable attendance required. Qualifications: Education/Designations High school diploma or equivalent preferred; college degree preferred Appropriate active Property & Casualty license required Insurance designation of CIC, ARM, etc. preferred Skill Requirements Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel and/or G Suite products including Gmail, Docs word processing, Sheets, and Drive cloud storage Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with numbers including basic calculations Organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a team environment Projects professional appearance and manner Self-starter with the ability to be flexible High attention to detail Work Experience Typically has up to 5+ years of placement experience Strong working knowledge of insurance brokerage industry including products, rating, underwriting, coverages, and industry operations Physical Requirements Must be able to communicate effectively with sales professionals, carriers, and staff Ability to stand or sit at a workstation during a standard workday Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machineries, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer Ability to move about the office to access office machinery and supplies Mental Requirements Ability to work and meet challenging deadlines and expectations Job entails meticulous attention to detail.
