This role involves a combination of strategic planning, market analysis, and team leadership to achieve business goals and enhance Mc Cormick’s market position. This person is responsible for 1) The strategic development and execution of comprehensive strategies that drive
brand awareness, consumer engagement, and sales growth, developing and improving our market position.
2) Developing a deep understanding of the target audience and market trends to inform brand strategy. 3 ) Working in collaboration with the marketing team and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective strategies to deliver measurable results for both global and regional brands, and to bring their business objectives to life though consumer communication, 4) Fostering a brand-centric and consumer centric culture within the organization. 5) Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of brand strategies and regularly analyze and report on the performance of the brand against established metrics.
The Director of Marketing Strategy plays a pivotal role in driving the success of marketing efforts, ensuring they align with business goals, resonate with target audiences, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization. They will drive to create new capabilities in a dynamic environment to develop communication strategies tied to our consumer insights and “jobs to be done”, using performance metrics to drive investment choices together with the rest of our Global Marketing Strategy and Media team across businesses and brands.
RESPONSIBILITIES Define and segment target audiences to tailor marketing strategies and campaigns effectively and develop a deep understanding of customer personas and their buying journey that align with the company's overall objectives and goals, creating a holistic global process that is scalable across regions to enable the Global Marketing Operating Model Collaborate with the marketing team and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective communication strategies for digital, social, and traditional channels, including leading the development of communication strategies for brands and campaigns, inclusive of communication objectives, target audience and key messages Working together with the Consumer Insights team to translate our consumer segmentation and need states into actionable strategies that align with business objectives across brands, categories and regions Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to the executive leadership team on strategic opportunities to improve our brand health and brand equity Actively mentor and manage and develop team of direct reports across regions helping them to grow and develop in their roles and managerial skills as a high performing global media team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with agencies in our ecosystem that impact strategy, insights, media and creative. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related discipline At least 10+ years of experience in consumer-packaged goods marketing, forecasting, advertising, market research, consumer & trade promotion, P&L management and business planning Thorough understanding of business goals and the role that consumer strategy plays in driving business success Strong experience leading projects and cross functional teams, including proven ability to manage multiple projects Solid foundational understanding of the industry sector and competitive landscape Expertise in business and brand planning, market research, consumer communications, finance, and promotional activities Sound understanding of principles and practices in Marketing and a basic knowledge in other functional areas including Creative Development, Finance, Procurement, and Sales Developed interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills required to guide, influence, and convince others, both internal and external Proven ability to motivate and lead others; Strong strategic thinking, leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
