Notify the operator/Supervisor of non-conforming products. One of the general inspectors should move to the outfeed of the machine when the machine goes down to prepare for start-up. Reclaim should be worked on by one of the general inspectors each and every time machine goes down (even just a couple of bags make a difference). Help with daily cleaning (sweeping, mopping, and organizing). Pick up bags from the floor and put them in the proper place. Check for excess glue. Inspect and
package material Required Skills Must be able to stand for 2-4 hours at a time.

To do that effectively, we need from Sales the product description, quantity, layout and time priority of the product needed. We need to be flexible to changes in the schedule provided because our marketplace is competitive and volatile. We need to provide good training to all production and maintenance employees and to manage and treat them in a manner that will best
utilize their knowledge, creativity and energy. We need to keep equipment in good condition to maximize productivity by reducing downtime and allowing the equipment to run at its highest optimum speed.
We need to continually evaluate our performance and plan improvements to assure continued, good, long term results. Safety Communicate, model and monitor the safety of operation activities during the shift to assure that employees are working in a safe manner, including the proper use of the appropriate PPEs and compliance to safe work practices and policies as a top priority. A shift Supervisor needs to be on the production floor and associated outside production, material handling, inventory and equipment areas and activities.
Monitor all shift activities to assure effective, efficient use of people and equipment. Monitor, observe & take notice of things that need to be done: production, safety, quality, maintenance, housekeeping. Promote and demonstrate a discipline for productivity and the use of time and resources. Communicate, train, discipline/warn, cause change - in that order. Assure the maintenance and compliance of company rules and policies and that disciplinary action is applied in a fair, consistent & timely manner.
Assure all machines are running correct product, set-up and operating conditions. Deal with situations/issues that are not performing or not in compliance. Timely, fairly, consistently. Know the capabilities of all people on your shift. Encourage, support and know your employees. Treat people with dignity and respect. Promote and demonstrate effective teamwork and good employee relationships. Assure that production people understand that they have primary responsibility for producing quality product including appropriate completion of production records and tags. Assure that all employees can work productively and safety by being well trained and well informed.
Follow their progress including monitoring their work, discussions with those working with the employee and assuring that the proper documents are completed appropriately. Direct and monitor through training and cross-training of employees to maintain current competency to increase operational flexibility, productivity, quality and safety. Pay particularly close attention to new employees to make sure they are working safely, receiving effective training and are developing good working relationships. Document employee absences, safety violations, and poor work performance issues, etc.
Know production schedules and anticipate the order of work flow, e. g. changeovers, setting/pulling fields, cleaning electrodes, dry/at-temperature rod supply inside, correctly prepared D-Form cassettes, adequate SC wire, adequate XW supply, needs for the following shift, necessary overtime, etc. Communicate with Maintenance in a timely, clear manner to help get effective maintenance support, working closely with the Maintenance Manager to assure that maintenance people are effective and productive. Assist production and maintenance people to identify problems/issues in a clear, detailed manner.
Prioritize breakdown maintenance along with other maintenance work, PM, modification, install, etc. Direct, assist, monitor inside and outside forklift Assure that all carrier trucks are loaded and unloaded safely, protecting property and with correct material and documentation in a timely Utilize knowledge & experience to proactively suggest and make changes as agreed with the Production Manager to reduce manufacturing costs in order to maintain a competitive business position in the marketplace. Assure that debris is cleaned from floors and equipment and that scrap tubs are emptied.
Accurately complete production reports/schedules/breakdowns, time cards, payroll information, labor/absence/vacation schedules. Assure that bathrooms, wash areas and break rooms are maintained and stocked in a sanitary, clean and reasonably pleasant manner. Communicate with the prior and next shift supervisor about schedules, machine issues, maintenance issues, changes, etc. Communicate with other business functions in a helpful and cooperative manner as necessary to describe activities, issues and receive updated information regarding operations and the business.
Assure that employees receive the information they need regarding their employment & benefits. Continue to improve personal knowledge of operation products, materials, processes and equipment.
