Typical Job duties: Splice, balance, activate and troubleshoot forward and reverse signal paths for new coax construction and BAU projects. Typical Coax sizes are.625 and.875. Track and report daily work via digital methods, Email, Excel, etc. Hours/Week: 40-50 Qualifications: Will require knowledge and proper safe usage of Aerial lift Bucket Trucks as well as the
ability to use ladders. The ability to climb/hook is optional. Will require the ability to safely work within Public Right-of-way, including proper use and knowledge of applicable PPE.
Perfect candidate will have their own hand tools including Coring tools. Tools may be supplied depending on experience level. Ability to work regularly outdoors in different weather types. Ability to use a TDR Ability to effectively communicate with others and work within a team environment Ability to be at work every day at 7am Ability to occasionally be On-Call for after-hours emergency work Ability to use Email and MS Excel for basic project tracking Possession of a valid Drivers license Ability to pass

We are seeking an experienced in-house OSP Fiber Optic Splicer. Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for splicing fiber optic cables on both aerial and underground OSP/ISP telecom infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a range of fiber optic cables and equipment, a strong understanding of industry standards and guidelines, and the ability to work independently.
Job Location: Somerset, PA. is the primary office of dispatch. Work will be performed in surrounding areas toward Pittsburgh Responsibilities and Requirements: Splice fiber optic cables in both aerial and underground telecom infrastructure. Must have strong interpersonal communication
skills to effectively communicate with clients, managers, and customers. Proficient computer application, and digital management skills. Ability to independently build, prep, splice, tag and test new cables to meet client requirements.
Experience in reading and interpreting engineering and CAD work prints, splicing cut sheets, and fiber-matrix documents. Working knowledge of fiber theory, properties, and terminology. Experience splicing ISP/OSP fiber optics using various splice connectors/fusion machines. Proficient with hot cuts, maintenance window, CO/NOC communications. Experienced splicing loose tube and ribbon fiber. Proficient with the use and maintenance of optical splicing and
test equipment (OTDR, OLTS, VFL, OPM, OPI/Traffic Identifier).
Working knowledge of different brands and models of splice trays, organizers, cabinets, closures, and storage units. Ability to understand and troubleshoot various fiber architectures including DWDM, CWDM mux/splitters, and equipment. Document and record cut sheet/splice matrix updates and applicable as-built documentation. Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ensure all work meets industry standards and guidelines. Familiarity with the usage of Bucket Trucks. Understanding of working in an outside public Right-of-Way to include site setup, traffic management, and safety.
