Delta Star also provides comprehensive engineering, testing, maintenance services, and parts for any transformer manufacturer through our Field Service business unit, ensuring our customer's transformers and mobiles maintain peak performance. Responsible for the planning and purchase of a wide variety of materials, supplies, and
equipment. Supplier Identification and Needs Analysis Identify and analyze reliable global and local suppliers, evaluate and monitor the cost and schedule of assigned subcontracts to assure needed delivery timing and high quality at best value for required materials, equipment, and services.
Obtain quotations, evaluate bids, select suppliers and award bids. Establishes and maintains rapport and business association with suppliers and appropriate salespeople. Contract to Purchase Analyze and process purchase requisitions and coordinate purchasing activities with appropriate manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. Sets-up purchasing conditions,
including contractual arrangements. Directs the preparation, distribution, and advertisement of bid proposals.
Place purchase orders to maintain stock inventory levels. Scheduling Responsible for on time delivery of required materials to prevent material shortages and make necessary follow-ups. Review the upcoming schedule of available work and manage shipments to meet production schedule. Expedite and Resolution Monitor & takes action as required to expedite & disposition non-conformances in material. Actively communicates through completion and closing and informs as necessary, vendor, requisitioners, appropriate management, accounting, and production control on order status and delivery.
Resolve incorrect invoices, shipping errors, and cancellation of orders. Obtain replacements for materials not meeting company specifications and engineering changes in a timely manner. Education & Experience BS or BA degree in Business Administration or Economics or equivalent experience and/or minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience establishing and maintain purchasing records, recognizing and identifying errors or inconsistencies and requesting contingency plans. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
Strong written and oral communication skills with all levels of employees within the company. Demonstrated keen attention to detail accompanied by basic math skills. Must be capable of exercising initiative, common sense, and ability to interpret data quickly. Must have ability to maintain effective internal and external working relationships. Must have a knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and MRP/ERP Systems. Knowledge of D365 system a plus. Run Ethernet from ONT to the location of the router & wireless access point unit. Connect wireless extenders, as needed, based on site survey and signal strength readings.
Install, set up and optimize wireless connectivity for all connected devices, using both 2.4 and 5.0 Ghz frequencies. Educate customers on Firefly Fiber Broadband service features and benefits, including Managed Wi Fi, Whole House Wi Fi, and Firefly Plus Vo IP service. Educate Customers about Support Cloud remote diagnostic and configuration management
capabilities Measure and record signal strength in dwellings to verify and document proper specifications upon job completion. Record data, complete billing and provisioning utilizing company provided i Pad, phone or other workforce management software.
Comply with all company specifications for fiber installation work. Meet or exceed Q/A requirements for KPIs including customer satisfaction, rework, and net promoter score. Perform disconnects/reconnects for upgrade or downgrade orders. Update records with detailed and accurate drop placement records & related info. Communicate promptly and effectively with team leader, CSRs and dispatch. Assist with overtime work when necessary due to
installation demand. Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Satisfactorily complete company-provided training Locate and mark buried facilities when needed. Job Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training or college experience preferred. Job Knowledge and Experience: Must be proficient with the LAN set up and wireless networking protocols Able to read and understand construction maps, and buried and aerial cable prints/schematics. Familiar with Outside Plant OSP maintenance and repair. Experience with fiber splicing tools, visual fault locator, light meter, fiber cleaning kit. Prior experience with both single mode and multi-mode fiber splicing, testing, and termination.
Prior IT or Telecommunications experience preferred. Other Job Requirements: Work independently while applying expertise to evaluate and resolve problems. Lifts/carries 70 lbs. or more. Works outdoors in all weather conditions, temperatures and climates. Promote and present a positive, professional, and courteous image to customer. Work in confined spaces when needed. Able to climb and work in elevated conditions while working near aerial power lines. Utilize general computer skills including tablets and smartphones.
Work a variety of schedules to include regular duty, overtime when needed, on-call, emergencies, etc. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Understanding of the Virginia Safe Dig Laws. Able to operate machinery such as drop plow/trenchers to include hand trenching. Use hand held power tools in addition to all other needed devices to complete job tasks.
