We are seeking a Program Manager - New Product Introduction to join our team responsible for overseeing the successful introduction of new fuel cell engine products. The Program Leader plays a key role in coordinating and managing the entire lifecycle of new product development projects and is accountable for meeting all project commitments (product improvements, cost reductions, incremental margins and volumes, production schedules,
and project budgets). These projects include product new product releases, product upgrades, cost reduction projects, and quality improvement projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities: Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans outlining key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements for the introduction of new fuel cell engine products. Lead cross-functional teams to execute project plans, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Lead Cross-Functional Project Core Team: Collaborate with engineering, product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless integration and coordination throughout the product development lifecycle.
Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members to drive successful project outcomes. Project execution involves definition of requirements, concept evaluations and documentation, product design, virtual build/validation, prototype builds/validation, pilot and first production, market launch activities, product cost and project financials tracking, and periodic status updates. Review Gate process utilized for managing and tracking program schedules and management signoffs. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with new product introduction and develop mitigation plans to address them.
Proactively manage and escalate issues to ensure they are resolved promptly, minimizing impact on project timelines. Budget Management: Work closely with the finance department to develop and manage project budgets for staffing, materials and capital equipment related to the overall project plans Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and report regularly to executive leadership on project status, risks, and achievements.
Required Job Qualifications (unless otherwise noted): Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in engineering, advanced degree preferred. Previous Work Experience 5 years of project management experience involving new product development in a startup environment Experience with fuel cell technology preferred but not required Familiarity with project management principles, PMP certification is a plus. Experience planning and managing multiple parallel development projects involving diverse participants in a multi-disciplined matrix team environment Experience planning and managing operational programs including departmental staffing, budgeting, capital planning, and reporting Skills and Abilities Strong project management skills and experience.
