S. -based and some non-U. S. -based companies in the life sciences sector. Meet with inventors to discuss technology and draft patent applications. Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, including examiner interviews, filing responses, and appeals. Instruct non-U. S. -based law firms in the prosecution of patent applications outside the U. S. Conduct patentability, infringement/clearance,

and validity studies, providing client counseling and opinion rendering. Participate in IPR proceedings at the USPTO. Communicate with outside counsel regarding all patent-related activities.

Requirements: Registration as a U. S. patent attorney with knowledge of U. S. patent practice and procedures. J. D. degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice in at least one U. S. state. Excellent academic credentials. Strong writing, communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Graduate-level experience in molecular or cell biology, genetics, or organic chemistry. Preference for candidates with several years of practice and/or client management experience. Skills: Substantial

experience in patent application drafting, particularly in life science technologies.

Proficiency in technology areas such as gene silencing, genetic analysis, recombinant antibodies, proteomics, transfection, and medicals.
