This is a rare opportunity for clinicians interested in serving a disenfranchised and underserved population while honing their skills in the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric patients without the hassles of managed care and with the complement of a full interdisciplinary treatment team. The Psychiatric NP will work with a very collegial and supportive medical

staff who possess extensive knowledge and work experience and are able to maintain a much-desired excellent quality of life. Minimum Qualifications Must possess good evaluation/examination, documentation and diagnostic skills for the treatment and management of mental and medical illnesses.

Must have basic knowledge of current psychiatric or medical treatment modalities. Must possess effective communication skills, both oral and written, in order to succinctly document in the medical record and for articulating and interacting with patients and others. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Completion of an accredited/approved

NP program. Current license to practice as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia and DEA registration.
