Writes prescriptions for psychotropic medications under the supervision of psychiatrists and when state regulations allow. - 15%For patients on medications, monitors the use and documents treatment results. For patients experiencing
a mental crisis, may intervene with therapy or medication. Responsible for case management. - 15%Evaluates patient progress and reports results to the treatment team.

Identifies nursing priorities for patient plan of care based on nursing backssment (and other data as appropriate). Validates these priorities with healthcare team members and documents appropriately. Planning/Outcomes: Develops an individual plan of care based on the age and backssed needs of the patient. Develops the plan in collaboration with the patient and/or family, the physician, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. Demonstrates respect for the patient's/family cultural,
spiritual, and belief system in planning for care. Includes planning for discharge to assure continuity of care and a smooth transition post discharge from one level of care to another (to include appropriate referrals).
Implementation: Provides direct care to assigned patients consistent with the established nursing plan.
