88+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 888,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students.

Job Description: APEX (The AIC Plan for EXcellence) is a comprehensive four-year experience for the undergraduate student body. The APEX Program is composed of three interlocking parts: four 1-credit APEX courses, the AIC general education core curriculum, and the co-curricular experience. Teach two (2) sections of a 1-credit course (AIC Plan for Excellence) in the fall and spring semesters. Assist

in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the APEX Program components (e.

g. backssment/evaluation, classroom content, out of class learning experiences, assignments, development of new offerings) Assist in the development and implementation of integrated academic and support programs that increase student success, retention and persistence (e. g. First-Year Interest Groups). Participate in the selection, development, and ongoing training of APEX Peer Mentors, a mentoring opportunity for upperclass students to assist with incoming first-year students' transition. Hire and providing ongoing support, training, and create a comprehensive professional development plan for all APEX instructors.

Participate on committees and working groups focused on student success, retention, and persistence as needed. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. Requirements: Required Degree(s): Master's degree in education, counseling, student development, or related field. Required Field of Expertise: Two to four (2-4) years experience in post secondary student development and developing resources to promote student success and retention at the collegiate level Preferred Field of Expertise: Experience teaching undergraduate courses; Experience with developing, planning, and implementing backssment and evaluation initiatives; Familiarity and past work experience with student databases (e.

g. Starfish, Campus Labs, Jenzabar); experience supervising students and professional staff; experience designing curriculum and/or educational programming. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of best practices and ability to effectively support students in their transition to and persistence in college environments. Ability to create strong relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Excellent organizational skills and planning abilities; Must be able to manage multiple and complex projects.

Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of programs and services to support and nurture a diverse student body. Excellent written and oral communication skills, and advanced computer skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, student databases and the ability to create detailed reports, documents, presentations. Additional Information: Work Schedule This is a full-time, exempt-level, benefit-eligible position. Normal office hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, flexible to the needs of the department.
