will have complex clinical issues and require immediate attention and clinical expertise, The RRT nurse will assist the staff member in backssing and stabilizing the patient s condition, as well as organizing information to be communicated to the patient s physician, The RRT nurse will be responsible for data and reports, The RRT nurses collectively will serve as educators over the medical surgical units as determined by director, Other responsibilities of the RRT nurse is to serve as a resource to staff, coordinate annual and ongoing competencies, assist with code SMART s code Stroke s, and code Blues when available, Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure Registered Nurse

with a minimum 2 years experience in Critical Care Nursing - ICU or ED, Demonstrated expertise in critical care nursing, Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support required, Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred, Bachelor s Degree in Nursing and Critical Care Nurse Certification preferred, Successful completion of all Orientation Programs, Job-Specific Requirements of Position Works every Saturday day shift, Acts as a liaison between med/surg and Critical Care units during medical emergencies, Consults with staff nurse, nurse managers, physicians, administrators, other professionals/healthcare agencies on practice-related issues, Coordinates the implementation of necessary

interventions within RN scope of practice and current policy, Documents the backssment/outcome of the event on the RRT in Midas, During a call, assists staff in backssing the patient and organizing information to be communicated to the patient s physician, Facilitate communication of pertinent patient information to appropriate individual, i, e, physician, nursing supervisor, etc, Implements the policies/procedures of the hospital and Nursing Department, In collaboration with the Logistics Coordinator, optimizes patient throughput from the ED/PACU, In conjunction with the primary physician and the other RRT members, determines if a change in level of care is warranted, When warranted, will coordinate the transfer to a higher level of care and accompany the patient to the receiving unit, Makes patient rounds to identify patients with complex clinical situations/potential problems, Other duties as assigned in patient teaching and in PI monitoring, Prioritizes work assignments according to patient needs, Uses the nursing process with a multidisciplinary approach in the delivery of patient care, Provides patient/family education as it relates to the patient s plan of care following an RRT consult, Respond to Code Blues/Rapid Response Team calls promptly, determines if other team members need to be called for interventions, Responds to all situations in a professional, approachable, and empathetic manner, Provides non-judgmental, non-punitive feedback to the staff member that initiated the RRT call, Uses advanced knowledge, clinical decision-making skills to address complex patient care problems, working as a consultant with nursing staff, Takes advantage of opportunities to incorporate these case scenarios as educational models for the professional growth of the proficient and expert nurses, Uses principles of growth and development to backss each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment/care, Uses the Situation, Background, backssment and Recommendation method of communicating and receiving communicating regarding a patient s condition, RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer For more details: jobs-search.
