We are looking to hire three (3) interns to join our team this summer! Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or working on projects within your hired work area.
Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. Then, the final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will get to really learn about our culture
and work environment. This opportunity is a great way for you to get your foot in the door and spend your summer gaining entry level insurance experience in claims, as well as general corporate real-world exposure.
What It Takes to Join Our Team: · Be a current college student (Agricultural, business, collision repair or insurance major preferred)· A quick learner and able to obtain a basic understanding of auto and property insurance policies· Be an effective communicator, have excellent customer service skills, and be team focused. · Be available to work at least 30 hours per week during the summer of 2024 from our office in Lincoln, Nebraska. What will you do? Review and record new business submissions into Image Right for Underwriting. Determine which underwriter is responsible for the risk based upon territory, agency and other items and assign the risk to that individual. Identify and/or review proper classification of risk and may enter risk into rating software for underwriter review for new business submissions. Examine and evaluate inspection reports, MVRs, loss data, audits, and other available information to determine degree of risk and
identify risk improvement or need for termination and makes recommendations to Underwriters.
Communicate with Company Underwriters and Agents to provide quotes, instructions, obtain supplemental underwriting information, obtain necessary signed forms, and provide other assistance as needed.
