DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs general repairs and preventive maintenance to mechanical systems including complex duties involving all aspects of HVAC, mechanical, associate electronic/electrical components and systems, including Energy Management and controls systems; repair, trouble-shooting, installation and preventive maintenance measures.
Performance of HVAC repairs and/or replacement, regular use of HVAC test equipment and skills. The Technician will promote teamwork, cooperation, and work to resolve challenges. Employee required to work in a variety of environments and conditions. Must be willing to work outside of normal work hours in an emergency situation. Must be available
to work on-call on a rotating schedule with other technicians. Position is considered essential personnel and may be required to work during adverse weather conditions and other emergency situations.
May be occasionally required to perform work in support of other trades and Facilities divisions as necessary to support the objectives of the college. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a good work ethic, positive attitude, professional appearance, and be able to speak and read English. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, be able to walk, stand, climb, crawl, kneel, push and pull. Must have a valid SC or NC Driver's License. An associate degree and two (2) years directly related work experience;
or a high school diploma and four (4) years directly related work experience.
Must have a strong mechanical background in HVAC, electronic controls experience is desirable. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: EPA certification Experience in a campus environment. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems. Trade or technical college certifications or degrees.
