In this role you will conduct Business Impact Analyses, develop Information System Contingency Plans, and facilitate disaster recovery testing and documentation. This position creates reports based on disaster recovery backssment services data, communicates the results to executive leadership and develops documentation on the software and tools used to conduct these activities. In addition, you will prepare and maintain disaster recovery training

materials and train resiliency program staff in collecting, interpreting, and communicating data related to resiliency backssment services.

illinois. gov/cms/benefits/Pages/default. aspx Job Responsibilities 25% Under administrative direction, serves as a Cyber Resiliency Specialist for the Department of Innovation & Technology (Do IT): Performs complex professional and advisory work in the agency's Cyber Resiliency & Business Continuity Program as directed by the program supervisor, Chief Information Security Officer and Deputy Chief Information Security Officer.

Serves as a liaison to Do IT management, staff and customers regarding preparation, documentation, and rehearsal of system recovery and continuity concepts, best practices, plan development, plan rehearsals, etc. to facilitate continuous availability of business functions dependent upon Do IT’s systems.

Benchmarks current continuity components against established industry best practices such as Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), Business Continuity Institute (BCI), International Standards Organization (ISO), National Incident Management System (NIMS), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Information Technology Incident Library (ITIL); Federal Information System Modernization (FISMA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), and IRS publication 1075. Advises management on remediation/corrective action tasks to improve resiliency confidence.

Responds to calls for recovery assistance on a statewide basis. Maintains technical documentation of Do IT’s disaster recovery backssment services. 20% Prepares and maintains disaster recovery training materials: Trains resiliency program staff in collecting, interpreting, and communicating data related to resiliency backssment services. Builds, maintains, and keeps documentation of the software and tools used to facilitate the resiliency backssment efforts. Facilitates meetings with Department business owners to complete disaster recovery backssment services including Business Impact Analyses and Information System Contingency Plans in accordance with NIST guidelines.

Manages large amounts of disaster recovery-related data in enterprise software tools such as Service Now. 20% Manages the scheduling, coordinating, and directing of the resiliency backssment and plans rehearsal services to provide analysis of agency and agency customer resiliency: Recommends improvements, and assists agency customers and others in meeting regulatory, audit, and best practice requirements to ensure recoverability. Serves as a primary resource during major outages and actively participates as a member of the major outage and/or disaster recovery response team.

15% Coordinates, develops, conducts, and disseminates IT resiliency education and knowledge transfer pertaining to IT continuity, recovery, risk backssment, business impact, or other relevant topics: Engages subject matter experts, educators, vendors, etc. to present relevant workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or one-on-one training. (Job Responsibilities continued) 10% Creates and presents reports using business intelligence tools such as MS Visio and Power BL: Creates data for presentation to Do IT business owners and leadership based on disaster recovery backssment services Communicates data insights to underscore the necessity of cyber resiliency in conjunction with the services provided by the agency to its customers.

10% Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field: Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and maintain current on IT products, vendors, techniques and procedures. Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations.

5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields. Requires three (3) years of professional experience in management information systems, computer application development, or a related Information Technology field. Specialized Skills Requires three (3) years of professional experience with IT Disaster Recovery best practices of Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI), Business Continuity Institute (BCI), National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), International Standards Organization (ISO), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Federal Information System Modernization (FISMA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), or IRS Publication 1075.

Requires three (3) years of professional experience with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and its use with disaster recovery planning and testing. Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance) Three (3) years of professional experience with IT Disaster Recovery best practices of Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI), Business Continuity Institute (BCI), National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), International Standards Organization (ISO), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Federal Information System Modernization (FISMA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), or IRS Publication 1075.

Three (3) years of professional experience with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and its use with disaster recovery planning and testing. Three (3) years of professional experience with cyber resiliency services including business impact analysis facilitation and plan development/exercise.

Certification related to Cyber Resiliency, Business Continuity, or Disaster Recovery from an organization such as DRII, BCI, ISC2 or similar. Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve. Ability to coordinate the activities of work associates to achieve desired results. Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with others. Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.
