We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Design Engineer in Mossville, IL.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world.

PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). Learn more about the Caterpillar Experience As a Desing Engineer, you will be part of a team that specializes in filters at Caterpillar. You will contribute to managing costs during design and development while improving efficiency in collaboration with suppliers. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Develop a deep understanding of cost drivers in filter manufacturing.

Contribute to cost reduction initiative for existing filters. Design optimal cost filters while maintaining performance standards. Collaborate with suppliers to identify cost reduction opportunities and implement best-in-class manufacturing methods. Create cost models to facilitate the identification of savings for existing filters. Work closely with procurement to onboard new filter suppliers and assist in developing their capabilities. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0/4.0 (no rounding) at current institution.

Graduation date between December 2022 and July 2024 Knowledge of CAD Ability to utilize software tools for developing cost methods. Ability to communicate with varying levels of the organization. Top Candidates will also have: Previous technical internship/co-op or experience in manufacturing, operations, assembly, or injection modeling preferred. Filtration experience through schoolwork or work experience. Knowledge of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) or hydraulics. Additional Information: Basic relocation may be available, dependent on relocation qualifications.
