Familiarity or experience in a manufacturing environment JOB DESCRIPTION Technical Reviewer for computer system assembly ECO (Engineering Change Order), activities. Assistant and advisory role to TPM (Technical Project Manager) to support the customer's business and technical objectives.
Receives ECOs, provides an analysis of the change, impact to the business and/or product(s), and assists in coordinating the schedule and implementation strategy. Works closely with the TPM to meet customer deadlines and requirements. Principal Responsibilities: Reviews change requests, provides initial evaluation of impact.
Creates and maintains BOMs within Avnet's systems. Works with material and supply chain teams to guide product sourcing. Assists TPM with engineering scheduling on assigned accounts.
May directly implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to document and build process. Communicates Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) to production, sales, and customer engineering team. Drives resolution for all technical and process related issues. Participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Job Level Specifications: Thorough knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has general understanding
of the industry practices, techniques, and standards. Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis.
May refer to policies, practices, and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results. Work will be performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. May receive some guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy. Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization. Actions may impact the success of the overall department and/or the organization. Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions may result in delays to projects, loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy.
Work Experience: 3+ years in a technical role Familiarity & experience with industry standard ECO, NPI, and manufacturing processes Familiarity & experience in project management and project management methodology desired, not required. Familiarity or experience in a manufacturing environment Education and Certification(s): Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained. Distinguishing Characteristics: Proven ability to translate abstract concepts and technical documentation into actionable tasks for non-technical audiences.
Hands-on experience with computer components in a manufacturing environment highly desired. ERP (SAP) & PLM (Agile, Arena, Windchill) system experience strongly preferred. Understanding of Avnet's business processes and departmental flow preferred, not required. May participate in process improvement teams for area of focus. Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement by utilizing process improvement methodologies and best practices.
