The expected projects that the safety program will be involved are directly related to developing High Power Microwave in various applications employed to defeat enemy capabilities, such as the " Counter-Electronic High-Power Microwave Extended-Range Air Base Air Defense" project, or CHIMERA, which is a transportable, standalone system that can fire at multiple middle- to long-range targets. This includes, at a high level: Developing and maintaining currency and understanding of the systems and their intended employment in the Navy and Joint environments; Understanding relevant safety issues; Participating in engineering and safety reviews; Formulating, evaluating and editing risk backssment studies and analyses; Preparing reports and briefs, and presenting such materials to formal boards including WSESRB; Formulating and analyzing System Safety Plans, Safety Management Plans, backssment of hardware and software changes/issues affecting systems safety; and Analyzing safety test documentation/plans.
