an Army Gold Master Senior Engineer, the selected candidate will provide services in support of the U. S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). They will provide operational and technical engineering support for the implementation, testing, integration, interoperability, and sustainment of information technologies comprising NETCOM Enterprise capabilities.
Responsibilities Include: Work in coordination with Microsoft to design the solution for developing and building desktop and server platform-specific baseline configurations for Microsoft operating systems to release AGM products. Leverage, where possible, any previously developed image processes for all supported operating
systems. Provide input in requirements and release testing of the AGM monthly release, annual builds, and new OS releases. Support the inclusion of required non-AGM applications (such as Java, Adobe, and others) into the standard AGM baseline configuration.
Maintain AGM standard baseline deployment components using only Army-defined automated deployment tools and keep the required local files at a size that will fit on a single DVD. Maintain the AGM deployment architecture and build model, as updates (mandatory and optional) are released by the AGM Program through In Sight and other automated deployment methods. Update a common architecture as it relates to the components of an AGM release
(OS/Configuration, Security Patches, and Applications), how each component is defined and packaged, and how an AGM release is deployed (media) and maintained.
Analyze Windows and Non-Windows products during software development and product lifecycle and document all product configuration specifications. Review the processes used to apply the AGM security settings on both workstation and server platforms and draft a standard process to modify settings in the field to support Army functional requirements. Effectively troubleshoot Group Policy and the effects they impose on computer objects. Provide input in requirements and release testing of the AGM monthly release, annual builds, and new OS releases.
Assist the Government in preparing and maintaining lab environments that mirror the Army production environment using the AGM-built OSs. Provide Tier II/III support for engineering and program-level issues submitted to the AGM Program and issues elevated by system administrators. Manage incidents and problems; confirm the validity of issues and problems; seek known solutions related to more complex issues. Provide support to the Enterprise Change, Configuration, and Release management process for the AGM Program.
