The Senior IT Project Manager will direct teams to effectively manage change while ensuring quality outcomes to meet business objectives and deadlines.
Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities Project Planning: Translates ideas and concepts into an executable project. Defines functional requirements, system design, deliverables list and phasing plan. Develops a detailed project plan that represents the full scope of the project and ensures quality and efficiency of project delivery. Detailed
project plans include itemization of activities at the task level, with task interdependencies clearly indicated to identify the critical path of the project. Establishes the baseline estimated work effort and committed/scheduled go-live date when the requirements phase is complete.
Schedules tasks, deadlines, and resources. Provides detailed milestones for all parties. Develops implementation plans. Project Testing: Leads Quality Assurance testing for technology projects on a variety of system platforms. Provides guidance on the level of testing required for the assigned project based on the complexity of the changes and the risk involved. Types of testing may include functional testing,
system integration testing, data conversion testing, regression testing, and volume/performance testing.
Collaborates with Information Technology and Business System Owners to translate project requirements into overall test plans and helps Business partners define test scripts. Ensures that test plans are thorough, complete, and sufficient to certify that a system is operating as expected prior to user acceptance testing. Tracks defects and resolutions. Project Execution: Provides management and day-to-day leadership for the entire project team, including internal/external IT resources and business stakeholders. Emphasizes communication, teamwork and follow-through.
Clearly communicates roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes to team members. Drives the project schedule and deliverables. Monitors project(s) progress, identifies schedule uncertainties and risks, and helps to devise mitigation strategies. Maximizes efficient use of resources. Supports and helps troubleshoot delivered work during the project and post-go-live. Ensures expectations are met and exceeded in terms of quality of product and service delivered. Project Communication: Acts as a primary point of contact for 3rd party vendors, consultants and contractors involved on assigned projects.
Assembles and manages working groups, ensuring stakeholder engagement to influence and drive decision making. Clearly explains technology in proposed solutions communicates requirements and assigns appropriate tasks to resources. Holds regular meetings with project team to communicate status, discuss issues, and drive the project timeline. Prepares progress reports and provides ongoing review to ensure accuracy, quality, and desired outcomes for all assigned projects. Delivers verbal and written progress reports to the business unit, IT management, the Executive Sponsor on a regular basis.
Solicits feedback and obtains sign-off on project documentation, lead Risk/Issue identification, escalation, and mitigation, and manage program/project communication to Senior Leadership. Oversees changes to project scope and schedule, and ensures proper approvals are in place. Understands the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately applying this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately.
Educational & Other Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Computer Science, or related 8+ years of Project Management or related In lieu of education, 10+ years of Project Management or related Self-starter who is driven to excel in all aspects of their role, strong personal management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple and changing project deliverables as the same time Direct experience planning, evaluating, directing, tracking, analyzing, and coordinating complex projects Experience with project documentation creation (charters, requirements, schedule and resource plans, risk/issue lists, and test plans) Proven track record of partnering with other subject matter experts to deliver a holistic approach and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels and influence key stakeholders Excellent oral and written communication and proven experience working well with all levels of staff including executive level management, business stakeholders, and technical teams Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment, work under pressure and deadline Proficiency with MS Office Desktop Suite, MS Visio and MS Project PMP certification and Financial Services experience preferred Job Posted by Applicant Pro
