in the care of the patient prior to, during and after specimen collection. # Knowledgeable of pre-analytic variables, which may affect specimen analysis. Utilizes laboratory computer information system to include all work aides and shortcuts within the system.

Utilizes quality assurance data to enhance the services rendered by the section. Recommends changes in procedures to address quality issues and provide customer/patient satisfaction. # Performs and documents quality control procedures. # Acts as a resource and is a liaison between phlebotomy staff and Laboratory /Point of Care Team. # Routinely perform difficult specimen collections, such as re-draws and misses. # Assists in the

training of new associates or students. # As needed, performs all pre-analytic tasks associated with sample preparation including, but not limited to, centrifugation, decanting, and specimen packaging.

# Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies by attending mandatory in-services and continuing laboratory education and participating in continuous quality improvement. Maintains appropriate par levels and organizes supplies and equipment in work areas as assigned. Notifies appropriate associate when re-order levels

are reached, and equipment needs to be repaired. # Maintains protocols and procedures for excellent patient care and follows guidelines for infection control management.

# Outreach Float Phlebotomist Additional Accountabilities: # Agrees with and follows the Travel and Expense Reimbursement Policy, Corporate Policy Number CP2.01, specifically as to liability insurance on personal vehicle and as to mileage reimbursement. A diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute OR 6 months phlebotomy experience. ~6 months' experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment (approximately 30 draws a day), or ~ successful completion of an academic program which included substantial, practical clinical phlebotomy experience (EX: 3+ week clinical student rotation program in a hospital setting or clinical student rotation with 100 successful venipunctures completed.

) Professional registration preferred [i. e. Personal Protective Equipment: Employee will follow policy and wear all PPE as recommended. Must be able to continuously move between hospital departments, and floors while maintaining confidentiality on workstations. inquiries between all levels of hospital staffing, patient care and requires effective interpersonal skills. fluids, odorous chemicals, carcinogens, mutagens, low level radiation, electrical hazards, and flammable liquids.

Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer. Must be able to move, push, lift or carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
