Job Summary The Network Administrator I plays an essential role in daily administration of the campus network including telephones and security cameras.

This position engages in monitoring, testing, diagnosis, problem-solving, and deployment of hardware/solutions to help ensure high availability and security of the campus network. This position uses office standards for change control, documentation, project management, tickets, and incidents, and this position serves a resource for network projects and contributes to continuous improvement of the campus network. This position reports to the Director of Networking and Infrastructure. Responsibilities Help monitor network performance daily including switches, routers, and related services (DHCP, RADIUS, DNS, VPN, Wi Fi).

Help monitor telephony performance daily including call manager and call center server. Help deploy LAN, WAN, and wireless network solutions for campus. Complete assigned tickets and self-assign tickets consistent with knowledge, skills, and abilities. Create and update technical documentation including physical and logical network designs. Diagnose and resolve routine LAN and wireless network problems, referring more complex issues to next level support. Diagnose and resolve issues with Voice over IP telecommunications. Maintain Vo IP phones, servers, and services.

Participate in on-call schedule and help provide 24/7 coverage when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 2 Year / Associate Degree any related field, networking preferred 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Familiarity with basic networking concepts Experience using a ticketing system to document and track service incidents and requests Preferred Qualifications 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in a related field Experience configuring routers and switches Experience or working knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and other standard protocols Experience or working knowledge of wireless solutions Experience or working knowledge firewalls Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite Experience or working knowledge of monitoring network traffic and making appropriate recommendations Familiarity with Vo IP and call center services Relevant network certifications or badges Proven problem-solving skills in a multiple-vendor environment Some experience configuring routers and switches Experience with network wiring and cable management Familiarity with network protocols, including IP addressing and subnetting Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions and manuals Understanding of Local Area Networking Ability to support voice and video applications Excellent customer service and communication skills Able to create and update documentation Familiarity with Enterprise technologies Knowledge of network security Understanding of wireless networks Conditions of Employment Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States and proof of eligibility will be contemporaneously required upon acceptance of an employment offer.
