Primary Roles and Responsibilities: A Senior Systems Engineer is needed to provide support for adding new capabilities to a complex system with exacting interface, performance, and security requirements. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with a range of technical and leadership representatives to execute engineering discovery, develop the multi-year solution, and ensure
an integrated approach is utilized to meet Customer mission objectives. She/he will analyze user requirements, system architecture, and system requirements specifications, and will provide systems engineering expertise and develop system architecture and system design documentation.
Responsibilities include supporting and providing guidance for system development and implementation planning through backssment of system engineering plans and system integration and test plans; supporting the development of system configuration documentation, including designs for capacity and performance; collecting and analyzing project metrics and participating in informal and formal reviews when necessary;
and conducting risk backssments and analyses of alternatives for a variety of system related issues and concerns.
The selected candidate will develop solutions for modernization to enable complex, legacy system integration and capability development using Agile Software development that incorporates cyber security, systems security compliance and certification, COTS integration, test and evaluation, implementation, and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities. Qualified candidates are eligible for enhanced incentives including up to a $25K cash sign on bonus or a paid time off bonus. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and at least twelve (12) years of prior relevant experience.
Additional experience may be substituted for a degree. Must have experience identifying technology gaps and developing new architectures and transition plans for multi-site operational infrastructures. Must have experience with the execution of hardware-driven advanced technology and prototype development programs. Must have experience analyzing user requirements, system architecture, and system requirements specifications on large programs. Must have experience with or strong understanding of issues encountered in modernization efforts and system integration efforts.
Must have in-depth experience with and understanding of test and evaluation, and systems security compliance and certification. Must have experience with large program technical integration efforts. Must have a proven track record of effectively organizing, monitoring, tracking, and managing project tasks and meeting timelines, attaining established goals and milestones, and ensuring overall project quality. Must have the ability to effectively collaborate with technical staff and customers in forming strategies to improve performance and reliability; and to plan for continuous modernization and legacy integration.
Must have experience managing multiple projects and quickly and effectively adjusting to shifting priorities and resolving issues. Must have the ability to create and deliver high-quality, informative, written and verbal project communications, to include weekly project status, dashboards, and ad hoc updates. Must have experience interfacing with Government customer and contractor personnel to formulate, review, and effectively execute task plans and to complete deliverable items in accordance with approved plans. Security Clearance Requirement: Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph to be considered for this role.
Preferred Qualifications: In-depth experience transitioning legacy systems into new architectures. Experience working with DOD Tier operational environments. Experience mentoring junior staff members. At least 4 years of experience working with SAFe for large systems development.
