System Administrator installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains hardware, software, and administers system accounts supporting DGS-X activities at Langley AFB. Manages and maintains operating systems, software platforms, server infrastructure to ensure proper configuration, availability, functionality, integrity, performance, and capacity.
Maintains system security according to organizational policies. Installs, updates, and troubleshoots hardware/software interface and interoperability problems. Conducts functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability. Manages accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. Monitors operations and collects
and evaluates metrics to manage IT infrastructure services. Monitors and maintains system/server configuration. Implements and enforces local network usage policies and procedures.
Ensures continuity of operations including disaster recovery. These positions are supporting a proposal. We are expecting award and funding of these positions in February 2024. Primary Duties Performs repairs on faulty system/server hardware. Plans, executes, and verifies data redundancy and system recovery procedures. Check system hardware availability. Provide ongoing systems maintenance, including analyzing auditing procedures and anti-virus updates and supporting software updates and patching. Install operating
systems and software in Windows and Linux environments. Setup and maintain user accounts on systems and cloud consoles/portals.
Document system architectures and user policies on internal Wiki. Qualifications will vary by level, but will mostly require: Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of related experience. Must be a U. S. citizen; must possess a current Do D Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Security+, Cloud+, CASP, CCNP Experience using relevant AF systems and databases. Preferred Qualifications Previous AF DCGS system experience is highly desired.
