Job Summary Battelle is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our Map Based Mission Planning (MBMP) Team supporting Army Engineer and Research Development Center (ERDC) priorities located at either Vicksburg, MS or Fort Belvoir, VA.
Position requires selected individual to function in an on-site capacity (with potential to work remotely- on call) in support of Geospatially Enabled Operational Design (GEOD)/Joint Planning Services (JPS) and related geospatial science and engineering programs. Specific duties include hands on system administration for our client’s Microsoft infrastructure and core Microsoft
business solutions, virtual environments built on Microsoft operating systems using JBOSS application servers, and troubleshooting and maintenance of network and system services.
These environments include, but are not limited to: Active Directory, GPO management, Server 2012/2016, Microsoft SQL Server. Compensation will be based on relevant qualifications, experience, and value to the program. Responsibilities Perform system administration for Windows computing environment under the direction of the Program Technical Lead; initially using diagnostic and application software. Design, specify and document network and system configuration. Support the installation, configuration, and patching
of Windows Servers Maintain operating system, VMs and relevant technology STIGs.
Troubleshoot and resolve, software, and connectivity problems including user access and component configuration. Provide support for creating and managing core Microsoft network services including GPO, DNS. Work as team member with other technical staff, to ensure connectivity, security, and compatibility between systems. Write and maintain system documentation. Provide Active Directory support giving user access rights and security, maintain Active Directory objects, and implements structural modifications to Active Directory Document system problems and resolutions for future reference.
Provide after-hours support for critical systems as needed. Key Qualifications Knowledge and skills in current generation operating systems, software virtualization; server protocols, administration, and security Inter/Intranet applications, and office software. Familiarity of Information Assurance (IA) compliance requirements, processes, tools, and software. Problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3+ years of relevant work experience Professional IT Certifications, such as: MCSA or MCSE, Security+, CISSP Do D 8140/8570.01-M IAT Level II certification Must be TS/SCI Eligible Ability to work both independently and under direct supervision or guidance, have mastered time-management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and schedules, including setting priorities, establishing effective relationships, and being attentive to detail.

Responsibilities: • Support the identification and resolution of automation and information technology
hardware and software issues and problems to maintain at least a 99% system availability rate. • Perform installation, configuration, administration and monitoring of enterprise class blade and storage technologies, to include performance optimization, patching, and updating of associated hardware and underlying operating systems in PWS 5.1.
• Perform administration and maintenance of Windows based servers to include daily system checks and record 100% of findings and statuses in DAIIS Systems Administration Daily Checks list. • Apply Security Template Implementation Guidelines (STIG) and security updates and hotfixes to address Information Assurance Vulnerability backssments (IAVA) and
security mandates within 30 calendar days of notification of update availability.
• Provide detailed system matrices of DAIIS supported systems and applications to include utilization, uptime, storage availability, and performance monthly or as requested. • Analyze technical support requests and provide possible technical solutions and courses of action within10 business days of receipt of request. • Conduct testing of systems and applications immediately after configuration changes and software deployments to validate that changes and enhancements do not adversely affect system operation and performance. • Deploy DAIIS-developed and third-party commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) applications to production, integration, and staging servers within 15 business days of deployment request.
• Conduct system upgrades as directed by DAIIS leadership. Planning phase shall start within 15 days business days of upgrade request and work will be completed no later than 15 after the agreed completion date. • Ensure the availability and accessibility of an average of twenty (20) Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows Server websites hosted across six (6) networks. • Respond to customer requests and contact customers by the end of the business day to confirm requirement receipt and provide an approximate time of completion.
• Provide Continuity of Operations planning, evaluation, and execution of critical services during the quarterly IPR and update any required SOPs and instructions guides within five days of IPR completion. • Develop and maintain documentation which includes SOPs, TTPs, System Architecture Guides, and Diagrams for all DAIIS systems and hardware configurations adhering to organizational templates and policies. • Notify the Government of any unscheduled system outages within 30 minutes of each occurrence and record the outage to the operations log within four (4) hours.
• Makes Configuration management data shall be timely updated within one business day of any modification or update of infrastructure and the contractor will report the updates/changes in their Monthly Status Reports • Monitor and assume responsibility of trouble tickets assigned to the Systems Administration branch, assign specific tickets for resolution, and prioritize tickets in line with organizational goals of maintaining 99% system availability rate. • Provide after-hours on-site support to respond to system/application malfunctions.
The contractor shall have 2 hours after notification of an issue to respond to the workplace.
