The technology-oriented engineer should understand both technical and programmatic aspects of fielded and planned future technologies, including operational concepts, applied technology, and system architectures, in order to facilitate the demonstration and transition of novel resilient capabilities to operations.
The engineer should be comfortable working amongst a diverse and energetic team in the pursuit of mission objectives and project success. The engineer shall be able to research and evaluate new emerging technologies for transition to space systems, and assist in the managing, design, development,
and fielding of new engineering demonstration units and technology demonstrations. The engineer shall advise the customer on how to coordinate with internal and external community partners to identify technology gaps, design technology development plans, and execute technology projects/programs for successful transition into customer systems.
The engineer shall be responsible for the performance of technical analysis of advanced systems, small sats, sensors, and associated signal and image processing techniques; high-level technology and CONOP trades for future systems; and system-level analysis of concept using various modeling and simulation tools. The engineer shall also be able to
support field test planning, review, and execution efforts to measure and verify performance of resilient system concepts, studies, and capabilities.
