The candidate must be capable of evaluating performance results, performing risk backssments, and recommending changes affecting perimeter security configuration/implementations. The position directly supports Do S on-site to provide perimeter security protection to over 80,000 customers globally. Responsibilities include: Build, design, test and deploy perimeter security systems. Directs compilation of records and reports
concerning perimeter operations and maintenance to analyze the performance of perimeter security systems. Provides input to the problem management process, including backssing and evaluating software and hardware anomalies.
Supports the root cause analysis efforts to determine problems and develop remediation activities. Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper support during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Manages the transition to operations of perimeter security devices for 24x7 O&M. Collaborate with Cross-Bureaus and Agencies to implement network changes as it relates to perimeter security. Supports the configuration and testing of replacement
perimeter devices. Plans, documents, and implements hardware and software build and refresh cycles.
Create and Maintain standard operating procedures and guides for new and/or existing perimeter hardware and software. Attend weekly teleconferences, onsite meetings, and participates in working groups, as related to constant changing security environment. Qualifications Required Education & Experience Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree. 8-10 years IT network engineering support experience (Tier II, Tier III, network infrastructure implementation and maintenance).
Expert experience in one or more of the following security devices: Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama management console, Forcepoint Stone Gate, Fortinet Fortigate NGFW, A10 Encrypted Traffic Inspection/Application Delivery, and Cisco ESA & ASA. Experience developing and configuring SSL encryption/decryption solutions for traffic inspection. Experience supporting the configuration and maintenance of Firewall/DMZ infrastructure including Network and Application Firewall Packet Filtering technologies (Palo Alto, Forcepoint Stonegate). Firsthand experience in developing and providing quality assurance review of engineering change orders relating to the replacement or enhancement of perimeter security hardware and software.
Experienced with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation. Knowledgeable with configuring Cisco switches. Experienced with network monitoring devices such as HP Openview, Nagios, Zenoss, Neural Star or other similar monitoring tools. Required Clearance US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance. Must be able to obtain an interim secret clearance prior to starting work. Desired Education & Skills Experience with Red Hat Linux/Cent OS and Ubuntu including administration scripting is a plus.
ITIL Foundation certification. Responsibilities: • Support the identification and resolution of automation and information technology
hardware and software issues and problems to maintain at least a 99% system availability rate. • Perform installation, configuration, administration and monitoring of enterprise class blade and storage technologies, to include performance optimization, patching, and updating of associated hardware and underlying operating systems in PWS 5.1.
• Perform administration and maintenance of Windows based servers to include daily system checks and record 100% of findings and statuses in DAIIS Systems Administration Daily Checks list. • Apply Security Template Implementation Guidelines (STIG) and security updates and hotfixes to address Information Assurance Vulnerability backssments (IAVA) and
security mandates within 30 calendar days of notification of update availability.
• Provide detailed system matrices of DAIIS supported systems and applications to include utilization, uptime, storage availability, and performance monthly or as requested. • Analyze technical support requests and provide possible technical solutions and courses of action within10 business days of receipt of request. • Conduct testing of systems and applications immediately after configuration changes and software deployments to validate that changes and enhancements do not adversely affect system operation and performance. • Deploy DAIIS-developed and third-party commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) applications to production, integration, and staging servers within 15 business days of deployment request.
• Conduct system upgrades as directed by DAIIS leadership. Planning phase shall start within 15 days business days of upgrade request and work will be completed no later than 15 after the agreed completion date. • Ensure the availability and accessibility of an average of twenty (20) Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows Server websites hosted across six (6) networks. • Respond to customer requests and contact customers by the end of the business day to confirm requirement receipt and provide an approximate time of completion.
• Provide Continuity of Operations planning, evaluation, and execution of critical services during the quarterly IPR and update any required SOPs and instructions guides within five days of IPR completion. • Develop and maintain documentation which includes SOPs, TTPs, System Architecture Guides, and Diagrams for all DAIIS systems and hardware configurations adhering to organizational templates and policies. • Notify the Government of any unscheduled system outages within 30 minutes of each occurrence and record the outage to the operations log within four (4) hours.
