the assistance of the QA department, get batches approved and ready for filling. A Chemical Blender is a pivotal player in the process of ensuring each product is properly mixed and ready for distribution to our customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Retrieve and read the production schedules to determine which batches need to be produced during the shift.
Perform all start up, shut down, change over and prebatching procedures as instructed. Transfer liquids via pumps and able to read meters. Open and dump bags of raw materials into appropriate mixing tanks. Read the formula to add correct ingredients and combine ingredients in correct sequence. Perform continuous
quality inspection of product while documenting appropriate quality checks. Work with QA technician to identify appropriate batch “hits” for color. Distinguish color and texture by seeing and feeling.
Communicate effectively with filling operators to move batches along the process. Perform bulk materials unloading operations. Perform basic troubleshooting techniques must have the mechanical aptitude to understand proper machine setup and adjustments for safety and quality purposes and to respond to malfunctions. Handle hazardous waste as part of manufacturing operations, maintenance, raw material handling, and clean-up activities, to protect personnel, property and the environment. Responsible
for performing operator PMs as scheduled or instructed. Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained by keeping work area clean and conducting a final cleaning near the end of each shift.
Other housekeeping duties as assigned. Ensure all safety and company rules are being followed; including, but not limited to; wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, Lock-Out/Tag-Out Policy, Cardinal Rules, smoking policy, lifting procedure, machine guarding, etc. Understand and participate in achieving site and shift goals. Participate in activities outside functional job responsibilities (site projects, committees, etc. ). May serve as Spill Responder or Emergency Responder.
Utilize basic math and reading skills. Wear a respirator as needed for the transfer of raw materials and processing of batches, and work on an elevated platform. Perform other duties as assigned.
