Salary Range: $62,081.76 - $63,525.28 annually SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is assigned to the Employee Relations Section of the Human Resources Office. The incumbent will be responsible for: Supervising and directing staff in all aspects of Employee Relations. Direct staff in preparing and processing EAP referrals, preparing medical opinion letters and processing fit-for-duty evaluations. Direct staff in preparing and reviewing all levels of counseling memoranda,
written reprimands, predetermination conference letters, final actions letters, dismissals, and other related disciplinary correspondence. Ensure staff are entering information into the discipline and other databases in a timely and accurate manner.
Will direct and assist staff with reviewing career service and union grievances, preparing responses and entering information into Human Resources Tracking System. Will assist the HR Manager in preparing cases for the weekly discipline review meeting and special projects as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional working relationship with supervisors, employees, and co-workers. Knowledge
of State of Florida Personnel Rules Ability to analyze information, interpret procedures/rules correctly and apply the applicable information as it relates to the cases/circumstances that are under review.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Share Point or other data tracking systems. Ability to work independently. Ability to conduct training classes involving a large group of attendees. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required. Must have at least 5 years of progressive experience in one or more of the areas such as Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Recruitment, Payroll, Leave and Attendance, Classification and Pay, Employee Benefits Must have professional office experience preparing and tracking action letters, legal documents and/or other similar correspondence.
Education can substitute for the required experience at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarterly hours per year. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience reviewing and processing information from multiple documents and various sources to prepare an official document. Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
