Laborers will perform tasks involving general maintenance and operation of an aggregate pit. ) Maintain good housekeeping practices on plant and equipment using water hoses and shovels. General labor duties such as shoveling and sweeping. Operating skid steers. Performing basic plant preventative maintenance. Cross train with other positions to maximize abilities within Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to u se of shovel and broom. Familiarity with MSHA regulations a plus. Use of various electric and air-powered hand, welding, and cutting tools Some knowledge of proper use of equipment,
materials and supplies used in construction work. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting Be available for overtime, extended hours and weekends as required for timely project completion Majority of work is outside in all weather conditions. Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy objects (50 pounds), walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor under adverse field conditions.
