Facility Services Team has a opening for a Groundskeeper on a PRN basis. The Groundskeeper must have a knowledge of, interest in, and/or a desire for a career in plant science, horticulture, landscape design, tree care, turn management and plant care procedures.
The essential function of the Groundskeeper will be to perform a variety of tasks relative to the day to day maintenance of landscaping, grounds, roads, walkways, trash removal, recycling and equipment maintenance. Additional functions will include but are not limited to: Safely operating, using and maintaining standard yard tools and grounds power equipment. Maintain plants and grounds by: mowing and trimming, planting and
seeding, fertilizing, weeding, irrigating, etc. Maintain clear roads and walkways of ice and snow by: plowing roads, parking lots and sidewalks, operating snow blowers, shoveling snow and spreading salt & ice melt, etc.
Serving as primary relief for evening, night and weekend Security/ Watch staff Serving as primary relief for Transportation Staff. Qualifications and Experience: Must possess a valid operator's license and be insurable with Kendal's insurance carrier. Must be well organized and capable of producing quality workmanship. Must be physically able to walk long distances, dig, shovel, climb, bend, push, stoop, pull, crawl. lift and carry heavy weights and operate grounds
power equipment, etc. Must have significant experience with snow & ice control and removal.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Develops Facilities plan and budget in-line with annual operating plan; proposes annual Capex Budget. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications and renovations, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
Provides analysis and justification to facilities Capex spend. Performs diligence on new facilities, acquired facilities or facility expansions. Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout. Provides Facility oversight and planning to support modifications to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, as well as
providing storage needs. Establishes, executes and controls environmental, health, safety and security standards. Assures site is compliant to local, state laws concerning regulatory EHS requirements.
Coordinates local, state, corporate audits. Identifies, solicits approval, implements campus security program and improvements. Partners with corporate EHSS to develop policy and procedures to assure a compliant EHSS program. Manages a network of external resources (suppliers, contractors) as well as internal resources to achieve intended results. Negotiates contracts and provides oversight of service providers including janitorial, HVAC, landscaping, and others as appropriate. Responds
to facilities alarms with containment and corrective action; as needed.
Corporate resource for contract management across multiple divisions. Other duties may be assigned as required. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in facility management, engineering, or business; equivalent work experience accepted. Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management; including experience managing in an office environment with multiple facilities. Current " Hands On" facilities technician experience Preferred Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, issues, situations to develop timely, effective solutions.
Background in construction management-electrical, HVAC, plumbing and negotiating. Experience with space utilization, facility and production layout; Lean 3P methods preferred. Thorough knowledge of OSHA requirements and hazardous waste requirements. Ability to read blueprints and other technical documentation. Experience with facility and preventive maintenance. Experience with emergency and disaster response. Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Excellent Customer Service skills. Strong written and verbal communication.
