Weekend Rotation About the Position Maintenance Engineer Level I - 2nd Class Full time 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) Days, Evenings, Nights On-site at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital in Grand Rapids INTERNAL POSTING THROUGH: 12/14/2023 Job Summary: The Maintenance Engineer is responsible to be " shift engineer" on all operating boilers and installed hospital equipment. To stand

any of the 3-shifts (7am-3pm, 3-11pm, 11pm-7am; 7 days/week), and to respond to in-house problems in support of the hospital and patients.

Responsible for maintenance and repair of all hospital equipment (except Bio-medical) in accordance with established guidelines. Will also be responsible for Grounds Maintenance and Security as directed. May be required to work outside in inclement weather (i. e. extreme heat and cold). Here's what you'll do when you join us: Monitor and maintain all hospital systems, equipment and machinery. Operate high pressure steam and low-pressure hot water boilers. Perform " preventative maintenance" and repairs on all equipment.

Perform light carpentry and painting. Have an overall understanding of other building systems and respond to repair calls. Understand the layout of the hospital and facilities. Be able to operate the building management computer system. Stay up to date on applicable laws, regulations, codes and department policies pertaining to occupational hazards and safety practices. Respond to emergencies as needed. Move heavy medical equipment, files and furniture weighing from 25-500 lbs. Maintain compliance and maintenance records of inspections. If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat: 2 years Vocational education in a maintenance-related field or 1 year of maintenance related experience.

Possess or obtain a minimum of State of Minnesota " Special Boiler Operating License" within 6 months. Possess or obtain a Class "2B" Boiler Operating License within 18 months. Possess appropriate, valid Driver's License and have the ability to be covered by the GICH insurance policy. Have good mechanical aptitude, ability and knowledge. Demonstrate ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca's policies, vision, mission and values. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
