MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Basic computer skills are required. Must be willing and able to be on-call and/or work a schedule that is inclusive of weekends and holidays. Able to lift 75 - 100 pounds without assistance. One year of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, electrical, plumbing or mechanical equipment. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction

or repair of buildings Valid Driver License. Successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Knowledge of AHCA Life Safety Procedures for a LTC facility Able to read and understand ASBUILDS (blueprints) PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/EXPECTATION : The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Utilities and Maintenance Superintendent. The duties and responsibilities include repair and maintenance of the physical plant, property, equipment and mechanical systems of the State Veterans’ Home. The Maintenance Repairman will assist to ensure a safe environment exists in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local requirements.

Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the buildings do not deteriorate. Provides routine repair services to defective equipment, repairs physical plant deficiencies, resolves routine work orders, assists with the assembly, delivery and installation of facility equipment. Documents actions and outcomes of preventative maintenance efforts, repair services and other routine actions to assist the Maintenance Superintendent in maintenance of a concise record of services rendered.

Maintains a clean and safe work environment, assists the Maintenance Superintendent with maintaining a focus of safety and accident prevention throughout the facility.
