leadership and support for the Safety and Occupational Health programs at the New Bern Mill. This position reports to the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to develop, implement, support and administer site safety programs ensuring the mill complies with all applicable health and safety corporate initiatives, laws and regulations to achieve an injury-free workplace.
Ensures the mill’s compliance with OSHA requirements and IP’s health and safety program requirements. Serves as lead for specific safety programs to implement and sustain requirements and training. Integrates continuous improvements in safety systems and helps drive employee engagement to achieve desired results. Collaborates
with mill employees to identify and implement improvements driving overall reduction in hazards through the use of programs such as Safe Work Observations, Hazard Recognition and Crew Top 5s.
Provides support to the department Safety Leads to help develop and implement health and safety training programs. Coordinate health and safety audit programs including corrective action plan implementation and tracking – both internal and external. Works with departments on communications that promote safety performance and ensure compliance. What you'll get to do: As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will lead a large team of teams of engineers to develop, test, and deploy a software system. You will also verify and validate requirements for a Ground Segment. In this role, you will be supporting program leadership and the customer to define and maintain the technical baseline. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission, ensuring everything is synchronized. We have multiple Systems Engineering positions across the Ground program, on contract to deliver the ground segment for a restricted space program.
This work will span command and control, mission planning and scheduling, mission processing, and system infrastructure. We have anticipated future growth to deliver additional ground capabilities.
