will supervise a represented electrical distribution design workforce of up to 20 to support the successful design of National Grid electric distribution projects.
The Sr. Engineer Supervisor will provide engineering decision making abilities to facilitate the development of distribution line construction designs/plans for all electric distribution line projects. Key Accountabilities Ensures timely development of distribution construction designs and plans in order to meet business plan goals, as well as company and customer need dates. Interfaces externally with major industrial and commercial customers, as well as major residential developers, local inspection and approval authorities,
other utilities, local and state governmental and public leaders, PSC, DPU, and other regulatory agencies.
Ensures that designs adhere to company construction standards, are complete, accurate, and buildable, materials correct, and scope meet design requirements. In conjunction with designers, develop and maintain systems, models and procedures in order to support design solutions and enhance efficiency and operability. Enforces labor agreements and ensure day-to-day activities of the design department in compliance with all agreements. Approves designs created by assigned represented employees in accordance with department policies ensuring quality and functionality requirements are met.
Motivates, counsels, coaches, and develops direct reports and others; establish clearly defined goals and standards of employee performance. Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required Able to lead and supervise a project team or virtual teams to achieve business objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and 6 years experience within Design and/or Engineering preferred. Technically proficient within engineering design and analysis. Demonstrated leadership skills including the proven ability to direct, supervise, motivate, and train a staff of technical and support employees Excellent oral and written communication skills, including active listening and negotiations skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop positive customer relations; anticipate, identify, respond to both internal and external customer concerns and problems. More Information Salary $107,000 - $126,000 a year This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
