production equipment, we want to speak with you! We are currently looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer I to join our Engineering & Technology Innovation team in Richmond, VA. This role will help deliver technology solutions as we work to meet our vison to transition adult smokers to a smoke-free future.

to test and explore your ideas. You will be empowered to make decisions on your work. You will see the work implemented in commercial production. What you will be doing: Technical design and development of equipment prototypes and subsystems.
Working with other functions to understand the requirements of your work Quickly developing, testing, and iterating design concepts and prototypes Managing aspects of your design activities including budget and timing Taking direction on prioritization from direct management Contributing to design reviews and concept generation sessions with team members and partners Using data driven decision making to advance designs We want you to have:
Passion for engineering and technical challenges 3+ years of mechanical engineering or technical design experience 3+ years of Auto Desk Inventor experience, including vault, is strongly preferred BS in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred, however equivalent experience will be considered Experience with additive manufacturing is preferred Experience with GD&T dimensioning strongly preferred Firm understanding of engineering design principles Familiarity with design for manufacture, maintenance, operation, and/or sanitation Experience transferring designs to end users or customer Proven experience in objective data driven decision making and trade-off/pro-con analysis Proven capability in troubleshooting and causal analysis Experience working with external design/build partners is preferred Strong written and oral communications Demonstration of working in collaborative teams, including customers Continuous learning mindset Common knowledge and use of hand tools and precision mechanical measurement instruments Hands on Test & Learn approach to problem solving Experience working in FDA regulated manufacturing environments a plus Self-starter with the ability to responsibly function with high degree of autonomy Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time Sponsorship Immigration Sponsorship is not available for this role.
