This is a dynamic position for an individual to work as part of Corning Advanced Optics’ mechanical design team. Focus will be to work on new designs for precision optical assemblies, optimizing fabrication and metrology methods in optical, mechanical, and assembly departments. Responsibilities include mechanical design/engineering, new product introduction, process development /

process control, design of experiments, modeling / analysis support of opto-mechanical systems.

Qualifications: BS or MS Candidate Coursework in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Science. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented. Good written and oral communication skills. Working knowledge of engineering tools such as Creo, Solidworks, or Visual Basic programming in Excel. Good data analysis skills, using software such as Excel, JMP, MATLAB. Duration: Summer 2024, 8-12 weeks Corning Advanced Optics is an industry leader in the manufacture of high precision optical systems for lithography and inspection applications, metrology measurement tools and laser components.

This is an exciting company with complete in-house design engineering, fabrication, and testing disciplines. This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $1,519-$3,074 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
