the Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia, PA. Job Description Senior Security Engineer role for the Comcast Cyber Security - TSF (Tenant Security Framework) Team.
The TSF product is an enterprise network micro-segmentation framework for Comcast's cloud partners (AWS, Azure, GCP, and private all remaining hybrid cloud environments). The team you'll be joining is a fast-moving group of world-class experts who are innovating in delivering automation systems for software-defined network provisioning and security. We provide our customers (application teams) with the network connectivity and security they need to be successful in their hybrid cloud infrastructure journey.
Our team's engineers are closely aligned with public & private cloud, security, and network architects to ensure our products and services consistently meet customer demands. We are a team that thrives on big challenges, results, quality, and agility. You'll be working with the best and brightest minds in Comcast to help roll out our micro-segmentation program. You'll drive technical decision making and implementation in how the platform integrates with cloud, infrastructure, and network device APIs to provide appropriate connectivity, apply appropriate network segmentation policy, and ensure that developer and security consumers of the platform have appropriate self-service management and security review capabilities.
Core Responsibilities Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs. Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Develops software update process for existing applications. Assists in the roll-out of software releases. Trains junior Software Development Engineers on internally developed software applications.
Oversees the researching, writing, and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports. Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers. Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures team delivers software on time and, to specification and within budget. Displays expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts and skills and their application around specified engineering specialty.
Displays expertise in process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. In office cadence is typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Technical Requirements Hands on programming background (Python and/or Go preferred) 3+years Python experience Ruby experience, nice-to-have Strong understanding of application architecture and SDLCBasic understanding of networking primitives like IP address and traffic types Basic understanding of how a network packet gets from system A to system BRest API development & consumption Familiarity with application architecture and deployment models Cloud/Virtualization experience (AWS preferred, Azure, Openstack, GCP, Kubernetes)Strong technical writing skills including specification and documentation writing.
