Smarte Carte is headquartered in St. Paul, MN and has operations in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore BASIC FUNCTION This position is responsible for supporting and managing credit and non-credit related hardware and software for our core products: luggage carts, strollers, massage chairs and lockers. Each of these products has

internal components that require programming (credit card readers, modems, and other components) in preparation for field repair & maintenance orders, product upgrades, and new product development.

While this role will require work on both credit and non-credit technologies, the primary focus will be on credit. This is an engineering role working on product support issues that involves identifying and resolving technical issues and faults. The position involves working on issues with unknown causes requiring troubleshooting and investigative skills. The role is an integral part of the Engineering Team, and you will work closely with the Engineers and Technical Staff as well as Product

Managers. Here are additional responsibilities: Credit Focused Manage the payment process dashboards and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve active credit issues.

Respond to field-initiated credit issues and work with location managers to resolve the issue. Assist the Support Services team and function as the next point of escalation in resolving credit issues. Assist with capturing, organizing, and analyzing meta-data related to credit issues and assist Tech & Engineering in working towards root-cause analysis and resolution. Assist in implementing, modifying, and overseeing the issue management process for all credit issues. Assist in completing all annual credit goals as established by Senior Leadership Perform in-house credit card reader management including programming, testing, and troubleshooting.

Participate in all engineering meetings related to credit and role related topics. Assist in any and all credit projects as assigned. Credit and Non-Credit Focused Uses established processes for programming. Ensure proper system configuration, function, performance, calibration, and system integrity on all devices and projects. Promptly notify appropriate personnel of system performance deficiencies or operational problems encountered during program testing.

Assist in documenting processes, instructions and how-to guides as needed. Handles engineering or service tickets as needed or required. Meets project deadlines set by Tech & Engineering or Product Managers. Requires assisting in quality control when new product is received, to include: uncrating, moving equipment to proper location, system hook-up, testing of functionality, acceptance testing and customer operational training. Conducts training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of company systems and products. Assist in project to run state transitions as new technology or new processes are deployed.

Assist with new product development projects as assigned. Travel for training or support purposes may be required (10% or less annually). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Technical aptitude with demonstrative troubleshooting or problem-solving skills pertaining to hardware, software and/or processes. Systems experience with shown skill in programming devices, configuring device settings, managing reference data, reading/reviewing communication logs, responding to error messages and/or interpreting the sequence of operations. Organized with the ability to manage various levels of details, documents processes and instructions.

DESIRED SKILLS Any credit or payment experience in installing, repairing, or troubleshooting hardware, software, or systems a plus (but not required). Any electrical, mechanical or IT experience a plus Intermediate or better Excel skills required - tables, sorting, filtering, creating charts and pivot tables, basic to intermediate level for formulas and conditions. EDUCATION/OR CERTIFICATES Minimum of an Associate’s degree or Certificate in related technical field. Any engineering courses, certificates, or experience a plus PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS Sit for extended periods of time.

Keyboard; typing for lengthy periods of time. View computer screen(s) for prolonged periods of time. Lifting up to 40lbs as needed. This is a hybrid role where the office or work-from-home schedule is determined and dependent on the nature of the work. It will mostly consist of 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office.
