As a Continuous Improvement Engineer (CIE) you will be responsible for assisting the Continuous Improvement Manager in driving the overall continuous improvement process at ASWP. THE CIE will be involved in all aspects of the business processes in order to lead, participate, train and assist Superintendents, Managers, and others in lean and continuous improvement projects.

The CIE position is a hands-on position with a substantial amount of time spent on the shop floor as a change agent. Complete CI activities across the ASWP Division as assigned by CI Manager; provide leadership and team facilitation on assigned projects- define tasks clearly, identify

and coordinate resources, identify barriers to progress, and execute CI go-forward plan. Act as a change agent, systematically driving a CI culture. Participate in strategy deployment and goal deployment across all site functions and multiple value streams, and work on assignments identified on the site-wide BSC roadmap aimed at meeting site business goals, including productivity, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, and safety.

Champion, measure, and report project specific on-site productivity savings to meet BSC goals. Lead kaizen and lean workshops for site leaders and associates, including VSM, daily management, standard work, problem solving, material flow, TPM, and 5S. Quantify

success including backssment and effective sustainment of standard work.

Identify business and or process opportunities for improvement. Identify internal and external best practices and share them across the site. Participate in site CI steering committee. Complete CI activities in the ongoing project funnel, generated from all areas of the business as assigned by CI Manager. Foster healthy cross-functional groups of qualified lean tool experts when working on assigned projects. Engage Subject Matter Experts for specific tasks and manage their engagement with the project. Conduct huddles and meetings with production teams to gather information and combine with personal observations to create ideas that feed CI initiatives.

Assist in the implementation of Document Control program including the developing, writing, and auditing of procedures. Assist Capital Project Team with new plant start up, systems development, standard work, work instructions, and training. Manage your own time and formulate priorities to manage several tasks simultaneously without frequent direction. Lead and influence a team in making significant breakthrough improvement in an environment which the CIE has no formal authority. Read, analyze, and interpret technical data into everyday language.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILIES: Carries out indirect leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, mission, vision, core values and applicable laws. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe working environment to include 5S, and other audits, training and maintaining training records, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Must be able to write detailed reports, work instructions, quality procedures and correspondence. Must be able to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of the organization. Must be able to compute ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs.

Must be able to use data analysis and statistical process controls practices. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of employees, both verbally and written. Must be able to work well with others, train others, and perform duties professionally under pressure. Must be capable of using various Lean and Six Sigma tools to analyze processes and recommend improvements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Six Sigma/Lean certifications are desirable. Knowledge of ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, word processing, statistics and process control (control charts) software desirable. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
