What we’re looking for: We are looking for a Director of Engineering, who will be responsible for developing and leading a team of engineers that provides specialized refrigeration engineering support for specific

After Market Services (AMS) customers/projects. This individual will be responsible for leading and developing the Scope of Work, engineering legends, Refrigeration Drawings, parts lists, equipment selection, and technical summaries.

This role will ensure that we meet our customer’s needs and help them with troubleshooting. This person will also be responsible for collaborating with leaders from multiple functions to resolve challenges and develop processes to ensure the company’s success. What you’ll be responsible for in this role: Establish and execute vision of AMS engineering Design refrigeration systems such as condensers, refrigerant change, refurbish, and other projects related to renovation / refurbishments for the supermarket industry Approve and sign off on drawings Develop a high performing engineering team Develop engineering standard work for engineering activities Establish KPIs, goals, and deliver on those expectations Develop an onboarding program for new engineers.

Develop training modules to reduce onboarding time. Create a scalable engineering organization model. Work closely with operations teams to understand and eliminate pain points to improve productivity. Work close with Quality organization and sustaining engineering team to understand and resolve quality issues.

Offer consultation to quality and field service organization of DFR to solve field quality issues. Offer consultation to various engineering divisions of DFR toward design for installation and service. Establish and manage engineering budgets. Establish a strong engineering team in India to support AMS vision Willing and able to travel up to 40% of the time as necessary What are the basic qualifications? Bachelor of Science Engineering/Technical Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering with 15+ years of experience in refrigeration service industry.

PE License What are the preferred qualifications? Prefer 5+ years of experience at the Director level Master’s degree in engineering or Business Industry knowledge in the following areas preferred : Controls Electrical Engineering Retail and Industrial refrigeration design Solid Works and / or Auto CAD, PDM/PLM data control tools Product knowledge of HVAC&R equipment or manufacturing is preferred Lead the engineering function and team for the AMS Team and customers. Managing tasks and requirements of the team members Act as a technical expert for the engineering team both internally and with customers Set and drive goals and objectives for the team & the members themselves Monitor and guide morale Manage and lead installation and product cost reductions, design changes and improvements Develop, improve, and implement processes and procedures for the department Direct and ensure the development of team members Prepare budgets and cost estimates for the services Review and recommend equipment, tools, and software for department Ensure the quality of the team is meeting DFR-AMS, industry, and governmental standards Learning and participating in new technologies and new products Representing the team in customer meetings Lead major projects for his team and delegate tasks effectively to the team Work collaboratively with managers from other groups Prepare annual evaluations of team members Recommend personnel actions including hiring, promoting, terminating or discipline Ability to execute in a matrix organizational environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (within all levels and functional areas) Ability to motivate teams and achieve results Established operating procedures and implemented best practices for group Planning, organizing, project management Verbal, written and presentation communication skills Teamwork Negotiation skills Decision making skills To be a great fit for the role: Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, understanding the refrigeration cycle and components used on refrigeration systems.
