Emphasis for this position is on mechanical and/or chemical engineering, analysis and design. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide project engineering support on assigned projects and provide technical support to the Clean Energy & Emerging Technology (CE&ET) Engineering team as required. Assist in monitoring ongoing work activities to confirm engineer/manufacturer/fabricator

compliance to TEC design standards, best practices, project plans, specifications and monitor/enforces compliance to all regulatory requirements.

Assist in coordination of work with CE&ET Construction, planners, and on-site and off-site contractors Assist CE&ET engineering and construction personnel in developing Scope of Works, project schedules, and cost estimates Assist in coordination of Tampa Electric comments to consulting engineer, process technology provider and supplier documents Schedule and facilitate project team meetings/conference calls to maintain project schedules and costs Supports development of project update materials for presentation to Tampa Electric and Emera Senior

Leadership Perform any other task as assigned by the Senior Consulting Engineer EDUCATION: Required : Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Petrochemical, Petroleum, Geological, Industrial, or other engineering discipline from an ABET accredited four year college.

Preferred : Core competency in Amine-based Absorption Process, Mass Transfer, Thermodynamic Principles, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Power Plant related training and experience. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred : Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate or EIT. Preferred : Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida. EXPERIENCE: Required : None.

Associate Engineer Required : Minimum of 18 months or 12 months with FE/EIT. Engineer I Required : Minimum of four (4) years of design engineering, project engineering, and/or project management in the energy industry experience. Engineer II Preferred : Minimum of 2 years of work experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is required. Related experience consists of power/chemical plant design, engineering, construction, operation, or maintenance. Experience in design, operation, or maintenance of enhanced oil recovery or wastewater injection facilities.

SUPERVISION: Direct Supervision: No direct supervision of TEC or TECO employees. RELATIONSHIPS: Key Internal: Daily with the Senior Consulting Engineer. Frequent interaction with the Station Operations, Engineering and Technical Staff and Clean Energy & Emerging Technology staff. Key External: Frequent interaction with the OEM and Non-OEM engineering and management, process technology providers, maintenance services and parts suppliers, consultants and industry group participants. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Required : Contributes to team effort by collaboration and accomplishments.

Proficient experience with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, Share Point. Demonstrated teamwork and presentation skills. Demonstrated assignment and schedule adaptability (flexibility). High ownership, self-motivated and personal accountability. Preferred : Working knowledge of thermodynamic principles, mass transfer principles, heat transfer principles and project management. Proficient Experience with design and review software including OGT Pro-Treat, Bluebeam Revu, Navis Works, Microstation, Revit, TOUGHREACT, TOUGH3, Petrel, CMG-GEM. WORKING CONDITIONS: Travel – Up to 25%, overnight and extended assignments possible.

Travel from home office to TEC’s Big Bend, Bayside and Polk Power Stations expected and could be frequent. Working outdoors in hot, humid, wet and/or cold conditions 25% to 50% of the work day. Working in a Power Generation facility up to 25% to 50% of the work day. Working conditions could include areas of elevated noise (hearing protection required). Working some overtime (nights, weekends and holidays). PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS: Walking, bending, climbing 10% to 20% of the work day. Sitting at a desk / computer workstation up to 80% of the work day.

This position requires climbing stairs and scaffolding, utilizing safety harnesses, respiratory protection and other PPE required by the work environment and in accordance with OSHA requirements. Accessing power plant areas up to 500 feet above ground. Ability to stand and walk for extended period of time Working in noise, dust and high humidity areas while utilizing Personnel Protection Equipment. Flexibility to crawl in and out of tight confined areas.
