Requisition Summary This position is for electrical engineers interested in supporting design development for product and electrical
systems and architecture. Duties involve interfacing with Product Planning, Marketing & Sales, and Management to evaluate customer requirements and definition of vehicle level targets, as well as engineering assistance, problem resolution, training, and other engineering duties supporting various aspects of heavy truck production.
Scope of work includes working on sustaining design projects, new development programs, research proposals for potential new product designs and employing innovation skills to mature ideas for concept development, and the design of specific parts and systems in assigned phases of projects, applying standard engineering techniques with the degree of supervision varying with experience.

Job Functions / Responsibilities Completes design projects and manufacturing process changes from planning, calculation and design analysis, design, testing, evaluation and implementation necessary for successful completion. Apply knowledge of electrical systems and components to design and implementation of truck systems and components. Coordinates and completes projects and design efforts with other engineering groups and departments within the Company. Assigns, approves, performs or delegates design modifications as appropriate.
Identifies and initiates designs of a complex nature. Directs and conducts necessary research incidental to design. Identifies, prioritizes, and coordinates resolution of production, production control, and Quality Assurance issues as appropriate. Facilitate program definition activities with PACCAR teams to deliver cost-efficient solutions. Coordinate with Product Planning, Manufacturing & PACCAR Parts to align major program book of wishes and identify all customer requirements which cascade into design requirements. Coordinate Vehicle Property Owners (VPO) to set project vehicle performance targets.
Provide timely definition of design requirements by completing major program Product Description Books (PDB), establishing project scope, vehicle requirements and performance targets. Prepares engineering activity status reports and other detailed reporting as directed. Some travel may be required. Skills / Competencies Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required. New graduate to experienced level candidates are encouraged to apply. Handles multiple tasks, takes initiative, team player, problem-solver, professional and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Previous design experience of parts and assemblies will be given preference. Knowledge of and/or experience in heavy truck assembly, heavy truck components, and systems preferred. Experience developing vehicle systems is a plus. Requisition Summary This position will design, develop and improve equipment, layouts, and processes (with a focus on ergonomics) to facilitate the manufacture of new, redesigned, and current products that will meet established specifications and will conform to established cost limits, under general supervision. Leads or represents Manufacturing Engineering on equipment/process/product development and enhancement projects.
Provides ergonomic backssments of current and future processes/applications. Identifies and implements complex layouts and studies of plant facility arrangements and manufacturing operations. Provides direction of time and work sequence studies and reviews and recommends adjustments to manufacturing operations. Develops procedures and plant arrangements to ensure proper material handling and storage. Reviews engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommends changes, as necessary. Determines manufacturing processes for assembly of new product development.
Provides cross-functional support to Product Development, Marketing and Advanced Manufacturing to facilitate transfer of designs to manufacturing. Supports Production by troubleshooting technical issues related to process and components. Supports Production by participating in other duties as assigned to meet Production expectations. Fabricates or coordinates fabrication of prototypes or production equipment. Identifies, prioritizes, and coordinates resolution of Production and Quality Assurance issues by involving appropriate personnel. Determines and balances operations manning with production schedules, develops standard operation times, conducts various studies.
Prepares and implements capital budget items. Maintains control documents per ISO requirements. Demonstrates professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities. Works weekends or non-shift hours and travels as required to support Production and project implementations. Qualifications Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering or appropriate major required. Demonstrated ability gained through 3-5 years of experience in related assignments (preferred), preferably possessing 2 to 3 years with PACCAR.
Experience implementing new equipment or products required. Experience coordinating with and/or directing supplier/vendor activities required. Certification in ergonomics highly preferred. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for Master Data Manager is $93,000 - $125,055.00 annually.
