Qualified candidates will be part of an exceptional team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from missile attacks in all phases of flight.
Heres what youll be doing: Qualified candidates will be providing technical support for the MDA Technical, Engineering, Advisory and Management Support (TEAMS)-Next Specialized Engineering Analyses (SEA) contract. The unique, highly qualified SEA Team is critical
to ensuring the MDA can rapidly develop and deploy Missile Defense System capabilities to defeat advanced missile threats by aggressively pursuing advanced concepts and technologies for leap-ahead capability in directed energy, hypersonic missile defense, radiation hardened electronics, space-based sensors, and Israeli defense systems.
The SEA Team provides comprehensive Missile Defense System Developmental Test analyses, future Missile Defense System architecture modeling and design, advanced technology analyses, and specialized engineering support to improve the development, testing, and fielding of cybersecure and tamper-proof upgrades to Missile Defense System Elements. n SI has critical
openings for Senior Engineers supporting the MDA Chief Architect, Advanced Concepts Evaluation team, MDA/CAS.
The MDA/CAS team performs evaluations for emerging advanced concepts and technologies to increase the effectiveness of the globally deployed Missile Defense System and makes recommendations to the MDA Chief Architect for new concept demonstrations and potential inclusion in future deliveries of Missile Defense System Elements. The selected candidates will provide specialized engineering and analytical support to the Director, Advanced Concepts Evaluation, providing Missile Defense System (MDS) Architecture updates and plans, and conducting qualitative and quantitative performance analyses, backssments, and special studies.
Duties include: Evaluate MDS capabilities and backss system performance against projected threats Recommend and backss unconventional methods for missile defense and defeat Document results in study and analysis reports, point papers, and briefings Develop new missile defense concepts and backss feasibility, characterize and backss the fundamental scientific requirements to realize new concepts, and document the results Perform mission and component analysis to establish capability and performance baselines Formulate and recommend strategies for achieving the desired Missile Defense System architecture in a Capability Development Roadmap Validate developing solutions and mission needs.
As solutions progress through development, iteratively backss predicted performance and test plans against operational requirements Heres what youll need: At a minimum, qualified candidates must have: A Masters degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or computer science. At least 12 years of full-time professional experience in a technical field related to missile defense and/or technical analysis of a complex Department of Defense (Do D) weapon system.
Works independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems. Must be eligible to obtain or have an active SECRET clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. Excellent written and oral communication skills and MS Office automation tool proficiency. Must be able to work at our customer site on Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, Virginia. Lacking any one of these disqualifies any applicants from this job. Other qualifications we hope you bring to the table: Prior experience analyzing one or more Missile Defense System elements or components including Infrared (IR) or Radio Frequency (RF) sensor systems, missiles, space systems, communications systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communication (BMC3), and missile tracking systems.
Preferred applicants will have experience in one or more of the following areas: conducting complex analytical studies, developing, or adapting analysis tools to suit needs, building reusable, well-documented MATLAB/Python utilities, backssing advanced concepts and technologies, and evaluating threat intelligence information as it pertains to new technology.
