Perform complex engineering design work without supervision. Consults with project manager and design team concerning unusual problems and developments. Prepare, review and approve electrical engineering design/construction documents. Prepare engineering memorandums and reports as required for wastewater projects. Direct work of technical engineering personnel and consultants on a project basis to achieve the teamwork required for the production of plans and specifications.
Coordinate work plan and schedules with project managers. Assist in the preparation of project scopes. Review and approve consultants' designs. Provide design direction to ensure compliance with code and county's standards. Review proposals from equipment vendors. Review construction plans of other agencies and/or building owners to ensure King County facilities are not in conflict with or endangered by adjacent construction or facilities. Assists field personnel in review and approval of shop drawings, interpretation of specifications and contractor's work.
Ensures the completion of as-built drawings. Participates in the development of terms and special provisions for agreement between King County and regulatory and permitting agencies involving technical issues. Responds to questions from consultants and/or other county staff regarding technical issues related to King County facilities. Provide assistance to Designers, Engineer I, II, and III's with complex technical engineering design and issues. Perform site investigation to ensure engineering document accuracy.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills What You Bring: 15+ years of electrical experience in the Wastewater Industry Highly knowledgeable in the National Electrical Code Familiar with NFPA 70e Extensive experience with Generators and standby systems Extensive experience with low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems.
