office in Orem, UT. We are open to candidates who can work remotely from our offices in Allentown, PA or The Woodlands, TX. We are also open to a hybrid schedule for this role.
The successful candidate will begin to take direct engineering responsibility for the conceptual design of Chart’s Cryogenic Carbon Capture™ process technologies to meet customer requirements. This individual must work well within a small team environment while preparing process information deliverables for the basic engineering design package. What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be… Perform process simulations for heat and material balances Support process development for innovative Cryogenic Carbon Capture™
technology through Aspen Plus, HYSYS, and in-house modeling Simulate steady-state and transient/dynamic processes to describe performance and heat and material balances Prepare process equipment data sheets and equipment lists Prepare Process Flow Diagrams Assist in the development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams Assist in the development of wiring and loop drawings and control system architectural drawings for internal research and development work Provide process data to the mechanical engineering department and key vendors for equipment sourcing Check process engineering work performed by other Process and Process I Engineers Assist in the preparation of Start-up and Operating Manuals Participate in experimental work and prototype operation Your Education Should Be… Minimum bachelor’s in chemical engineering or process engineering Master’s degree in chemical engineering preferred Your Professional Experience Should Be… 3+ years of recent, relevant process engineering experience or educational equivalent Computer programming experience is helpful Knowledge of chemical engineering “First Principles”, especially thermodynamics and heat/mass transfer Working knowledge of ASPENPlus/HYSYS and/or similar process simulation software, including dynamic simulation Knowledge of cryogenic process technologies, which may include cryogenic air separation, natural gas liquefaction, hydrogen liquefaction, helium processing and liquefaction, etc.

Mountain Region JOB REQUIREMENTS B. S. in chemical engineering from an accredited university Advanced degrees (M. S. or M. B. A. ) and professional registration are a plus but not required. A minimum of 5 to 15+ years of combined plant operations, troubleshooting, project management, and process design experience.
Must be familiar with typical chemical process engineering deliverables, i. e. process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, heat and mass balances, equipment specifications, etc. Ideal experience includes a variety of unit operations process simulation and design (distillation, heat exchangers, scrubbers, relief valve sizing, etc. ). Although a driver’s license is not required, applicants with a driver’s license must provide a certified copy of motor vehicle driving record from the chief of the state driver’s licensing agency in which the applicant was last issued a license and any license(s) issued or reissued from other state(s) within the preceding 60 months. Motor vehicle records must be void of any drug and alcohol violations within the previous 36 months. 2. 3. Must sign a release of records authorizing all previous railroad employers to provide Amtrak with background information, if applicable. If selected, incumbent will be required to successfully complete Engineer Training as follows: 8-10 weeks classroom and field work while headquartered at Amtrak’s Training Center in Wilmington, DE; followed by extensive qualifying and on-the-job training associated with the Crew Base for which hired; paid at the student training rate until incumbent achieves certification as a Class 1 Train Service Engineer.
Individuals currently certified as Class 1 Train Service Engineers are paid at the rate determined by the agreement schedule. Incumbents are subject to periodic medical examinations including random drug and alcohol screenings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Some college or vocational training. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The hourly rate is $28.47 - $49.05 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
