Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to fill a Staff Systems Engineer role in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to lead the Mission Processing Element which is a software development team to support a new Ground program. This position can be filled at Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA or Linthicum, MD.
What you'll get to do: As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will lead a large team of teams of engineers to develop, test, and deploy a software system. You will also verify and validate requirements for a Ground Segment. In this role, you will be supporting program leadership and the customer to define and maintain the technical baseline. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission, ensuring everything is synchronized. We have multiple Systems Engineering positions across the Ground program, on contract to deliver the ground segment for a restricted space program.
This work will span command and control, mission planning and scheduling, mission processing, and system infrastructure. We have anticipated future growth to deliver additional ground capabilities. The successful candidate will have broad Systems Engineering lifecycle knowledge, with the ability to manage changes and present options for managing scope and dependencies to the technical and management teams in concise briefings. The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment and to be highly self-motivated.
The ideal candidate is a leader who is experienced leading other Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads and who excels in keeping the program management and the customer informed. The individual is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions, and working in a very collaborative and fast paced environment that continues to grow. Experience leading teams is a must. Qualifications This position is for a Staff Systems Engineer.
