About UC Blue Ash The Allied Health Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Medical Assisting Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed). Job Overview On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

Medical Assisting adjunct faculty must be able to teach certificate level administrative and clinical courses including medical terminology, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), front office procedures, medical insurance, basic clinical techniques, medical laboratory procedures, medication administration, specialty procedures, and medical office emergencies. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students and reply to student communications in a timely manner; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.

Essential Functions On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses. Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework. Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of their responsibilities. Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications. Required Education Bachelor’s degree in allied health, business, education, or other appropriate field with 5 to 7 years of actual work experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting as a medical assistant.

Required Trainings/Certifications A current CMA (AAMA) credential is required. Required Experience One year of successful classroom experience in the course content area. Additional Qualifications Considered Master's degree in allied health, business, education, or other appropriate field with 3 to 5 years of actual work experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting as a medical assistant.
