4K during the school year (Sept. - May), and to children 3 yrs. through 3rd grade bound in the summer. Children are placed in one classroom with a teaching team for the entire school year. This allows our teachers to follow each child's development throughout the year, and children are with their peer group.
Candidate hired must provide the children with a safe, loving and nurturing environment. Assistant teachers support lead teachers in the preparation of lesson plans, implementation of plan including preparation, set-up, and clean-up, maintaining individual child portfolios (observations, portfolio entries, evidence of activities reflecting developmental growth, etc. ) and sharing
observations with lead teacher to maintain a cohesive teaching team. Engagement with children is important. Working with individual, small and large groups is part of the daily routine.

Provide comfort, encouragement and support to all children. Assist in the implementation daily activities and encourage participation by children. out appropriate and positive discipline as established by lead teacher Ensure program goals are being implemented Assist in maintaining portfolios for each child with antidotal notes, pictures, etc.

Fulfil yearly Continuing Education requirement Must be flexible to work in more than one classroom if needed. Requirements Minimum of certification or training in early childhood or related field or higher education Minimum of 1 year child care experience Ability to work well with others. Strong communication skills and basic computer skills. An understanding of child development.
Organizational and interpersonal skills.
